About Driving Tests

In order for you to be fully qualified to drive on your own, you must first prove your driving knowledge and skill in a driving theory exam, followed by a practical exam overseen by a professional examiner.

You can find a more detailed description of each test and what they involve here.

At Extol, we help you prepare for both exams in a number of ways.

What help will I get with my Theory Test?

Pupils will be trained by one of our instructors with the aim of passing the Theory test whilst on course.

Alternatively you can take the theory test prior to arriving on course at their local theory testing centre.

We can arrange this for you or you can book online at www.direct.gov.uk/drivingtests for your local theory test centre booking section.

We pride ourselves on having a 98% Theory Test Pass rate!

How will I train for my Practical Driving Test?

As well as training intensively throughout the course duration, you will be taught about what to expect from the exam, what examiners look for and everything else you need to know to make sure you are fully prepared.

Whilst on course, providing a theory test is successful, a practical test booking will be made for the last day of your course, subject to the DSA required standards being met.

The test will take place at one of the many North West Test Centres within easy reach of Blackpool.

On the day of your Test your instructor will either drive you to the Test Centre or you will drive yourself, accompanied by your instructor.
